The Pro version suggests possible translations that you can use with a single keystroke. Or better yet, pre-translate the entire file at once and then only correct and finalize the translations.
Poedit searches for suggested translations in a vast online database, combines them with your personal translation memory and adds state-of-the-art machine translation into the mix.
Just recently went Pro and it already saved tons of hours. Online suggestions are a godsend!
The Pro version comes with extra smarts: it understands WordPress themes and plugins. When you need to make a new translation, it sets everything up for you — even if you don’t know anything about Gettext (or would rather not waste time learning it all). You can focus on translating the texts, without having to worry about the technical details.
Or you could, you know, do it the old fashioned manual way in the free version of Poedit. But the pro way is so much better.

Poedit 2 has first-class, full builtin support for Twig templates, including Timber, and extracts translatable strings directly from them.
Support for even more template languages is coming in future updates.
Professionals need statistics to get paid. Poedit’s word count is language-aware, conforms to the latest Unicode Standard and has built-in, dictionary-based support for text in languages such as Chinese, Japanese or Thai.

The purchase is a one-time payment and grants you lifetime right to use Poedit Pro 2, including minor updates. The license is valid for one user and can be used on up to 3 computers (both Windows PCs and Macs), as long as you are the only user.
I’m impressed at how good the translation memory feature in Poedit really is!
